What to see in Sanxenxo and surroundings
The municipality of Sanxenxo, and in general the south of Galicia, is known for its beautiful beaches, natural landscapes and mild climate.
Here are some suggestions to enjoy what Sanxenxo and its surroundings have to offer.
Beach and Chapel of A Lanzada
Our flats are only 300 m from A Lanzada Beach, one of the most important beaches in Galicia. This 2.5 km long sandy beach is located in a protected dune area belonging to the Red Natura. Sunbathing while watching the island of Ons, practising sports such as bodyboarding, surfing or paddle surfing or walking along the wooden promenade that runs along it is a real experience.
At the eastern end is the Ermita de A Lanzada, a 12th century Romanesque style stone chapel located in what was a commercial enclave before the Romans and later a defensive fortress against the Vikings in the Middle Ages.

O Grove mussel boat route
In the nearby town of O Grove you can sail along the Ría de Arousa in one of the different types of boats that leave from the port of O Grove. Throughout the trip you will discover its secrets while tasting some tasty mussels.
Ons Island
Isla de Ons is a part of the National Park of the Atlantic Islands of Galicia. This beautiful island is known for its rich biodiversity, stunning beaches, and historical significance. The island’s landscape is characterized by rugged cliffs, sandy shores, and lush vegetation. It’s a popular destination for nature lovers, hikers, and those seeking a peaceful retreat in a natural setting. The island also has a fascinating history, with evidence of human occupation dating back to the Bronze Age. Visitors often enjoy exploring the traditional architecture of the small village on the island, as well as the ancient ruins scattered throughout. The local cuisine, particularly seafood, is another highlight for those who visit Isla de Ons.

Cíes Islands
The natural park of the Cíes Islands is located at the entrance to the Vigo estuary and forms part, along with the islands of Ons, Sálvora and Cortegada, of the National Park of the Atlantic Islands of Galicia.
On the Cíes Islands is Rodas Beach, chosen as the best beach in the world in 2007 by The Guardian newspaper. This sandy beach could well pass for a Caribbean beach, if it weren’t for the fact that it is located between pine and eucalyptus trees.
Don’t miss the opportunity to walk along this beach of fine white sand and bathe in its crystal-clear emerald waters.
Island of La Toja
On the island of La Toja you will find the famous Isla de La Toja spa, the Chapel of the Shells and the Grobits’ Village: a small and original playground that recreates Hobbiton, the home of the Hobbits, with its miniature houses half-buried and covered by the nature of the area. It also has swings, climbing frames, benches, a magic well and other attractions, created with wood as the main material, that will delight the youngest members of the family.

Cambados
Cambados is known for being the capital of Albariño and for its historic centre, one of the best restored in Galicia and the result of the union of three historic villages: Fefiñáns, the noble area and commercial centre; Cambados, the administrative centre; and Santo Tomé, the oldest area and fishing village.

Stone and Water Route
This route, about 20 km from the hotel, can be done in several sections and runs through the councils of Ribadumia and Meis, ending at the Monastery of Armenteira. It is a linear route of 7 km in which we will discover a good number of restored mills. It lasts approximately 2 hours and is suitable for families and older people, as it has little slope.

Route of Father Sarmiento
The Route of Padre Sarmiento is a hiking route that runs mainly along the coastline of the region of O Salnés.
This route is named after Martín Sarmiento, also known as Padre Sarmiento, a Galician Benedictine from the 18th century famous for his work in various fields such as linguistics, ethnography and botany.
The complete route covers around 190 kilometres divided into 9 stages, starting in the city of Pontevedra and going through the municipalities of Poio, Sanxenxo, O Grove, Cambados, A Illa de Arousa, Vilanova de Arousa and Vilagarcía de Arousa; continuing through Padrón until reaching Santago de Compostela.
Along the way, walkers will be able to enjoy the rich history, culture, art and nature of our lands.
